Steven recently had a baby girl who is still in all day sleep mode, so being the good cousing that I am, I had to get him out of the house for some fresh air and excercise. Plus one of our local favorites is under new management and we had some research to do… With that, we decided we’re ‘Taking Back Tuesday’ and taking another run at Crystal Lake Golf Club in Haverhill, MA, for round three of #OGP2018.
COURSE: Crystal Lake Golf Club – Haverhill, MA
DATE-TEE TIME: April 24th, 2017 – 1:45 PM
GROUPING: CaseyB, Steven
CONDITIONS: 65 degrees and sunny
After an attrocious round at Bradford Country Club a few days prior, we decided to go easy on the camera work and just focus on the golf. That strategy worked well for me at first, with TWO birdies on the front-nine. That run lasted until I realized I missplaced my 52-degree wedge somewhere between holes 8 and 10, completely throwing me off. I managed to take a two-stroke lead into the back-nine, only to have Steven come from behind to win by one stroke.
On a positive note, they later found my wedge and I was able to pick it up the next day. (A big thanks to the new crew at Crystal Lake for the help!) I also snagged a great slow-motion video of Steven hitting out of the fairway bunker on the 8th hole.
Sterling Golf Management, Inc bought the club earlier this year and they’re off to a great start. The course is in good shape and we noticed some of the more pesky trees have gone missing, which we’ll take as a ‘customer appreciation’ sort of gesture. I’ve always been a fan of this track, and it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

Until next time, GO LOW!
