A Happy Friday!
As the Spring weather arrived on Friday 4/20 we had to get out on the course, so we scurried over to Bradford Country Club and had a few laughable moments.
COURSE: Bradford Country Club (Bradford, MA)
TEE TIME: April 20, 2018 – 2 PM
GROUPING: Casey, Shane, Steven
CONDITIONS: 55 degrees, windy and partly cloudy
Nothing like a nice whipping wind off the first tee, especially when it’s left to right and you’re facing a dogleg left… So after agreeing to a group-wide ‘breakfast ball’ we moved along to one of my finest laughable moments to-date. My weakness lately has been putting, so I was determined to work through the rough patch…
With that in mind, I was faced with a rediculously long birdie attempt from the fringe on the second hole and grabbed my putter. I took a peak at the line, got aligned, and gave it a good whack. My immediate reaction was an expletive, but I swore too soon because just then the ball slowed its roll and drifted directly into the cup! I couldn’t get excited because I was too busy lauyghing, Steven joined in and Shane rolled his eyes.
Then it was Steven’s turn to provide a laugh. Below you’ll see a lovely slideshow featuring Steven making his approach on the par-4 ninth hole. It’s a lovely view of the clubhouse across the water, and a green protected by a slew of bunkers on the right. Clearly distracted by the view, Steven duffed two balls into the water before we all decided to give him another try… the beauty below is the final try, which made it over and set him up for a snowman. We’re no Pro’s over here, we all had a good laugh.
The back-nine was rough for everyone involved, but the scenery never fails to remind me of why I love golf. Plus Steven redeemed himself with an awesome contribution to the photography for this post.
